Tasting Note
The Single Vineyard Series are limited release single varietal wines, crafted from fruit grown on the slopes of our Western Branch vineyard. These wines reflect our commitment to creating interesting wines that offer a true sense of place. Discover our interpretation of some unique varietals.
Cáscara[cahs'-ca-rah]: Rind, peel, skin, hull, or husk of caruous fruits
This parcel of fruit was hand picked from our Western Branch Vineyard, whole bunch pressed, fermented on skins for one month and then aged in older French oak for twelve months. A complex and intriguing wine, it is savoury, with a citrus tang, herbaceous and bone dry. Notes of waxy honeycomb dried herbs and lavender are present on the palate in this unexpected and punchy offering to the senses.
