2011 Francis John Pinot Noir

Tasting Note

An elegant style of Pinot Noir with lifted aromas of summer berries underpinned by secondary fruit characters of dark cherries. The palate is layered and complex showing good integration of fine, drying tannins and savoury gamey tones. Hint of cocoa and lingering acidity to finish.

A true ‘burgundian’ style Pinot that has texture and body, with a balance of rich fruit and savoury characters.

This wine is great with duck, and game meats. It also works really well with dishes that feature mushrooms. A favourite match of ours is Pinot Risotto with Mushroom, Chestnuts and Cavelo Nero.
