Paella Sundays @ Golding Wines - 2 Dec 2018

 

It is paella time again at Golding Wines!

We will be serving traditional meat and seafood paella along with delicious regional boards and platters.  What a great way to enjoy a day out in the Adelaide Hills!  Let us take care of lunch while you enjoy live tunes and a relaxed atmosphere at our beautiful cellar door.  

Delicious food & wine, great live music and perfect for the whole family.  Bring it on!  We would love to see you there.

We have released 2 dates, each with a 12noon or 1pm lunch session:

- Sunday October 28th (SOLD OUT)

- Sunday December 2nd (SOLD OUT)

NOTE:  Session times are for catering purposes only and guests at both sessions can stay until the 5pm close

ADULT TICKETS: $32 per adult which includes take-home branded Golding Spieglau glass, first wine pour from our Market Series, and a serve of paella**

KIDS TICKETS (under 12): $15 per child which includes your choice of either crumbed chicken tenderloins and chips OR a regional plate featuring fruit & vegetables, ham, cheese and bread.  Both options come with a fruit juice and activity pack.

UNDER 18YO TICKETS: $18 per person - under 18yo - serve of Paella only. No alcohol or beverage included.

Forget the turkey….Christmas is all about the glazed HAM.

Join us as we partner with Richard Gunner from Feast! Fine Foods to talk all things quality South Australian pork as we celebrate the glory of the Christmas Ham. Mingle on the terrace and enjoy a glass of fizz with some delicious platters before heading into the kitchen for a hands on ham glazing session with our Head Chef Josh Dorset. Ever wondered how to score the ham? How long should you bake it for? What is the best glaze to use? Best wine to serve on Christmas Day? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered, including a cherished family recipe that will be shared for the first time. Take a back seat and keep sipping or get in and get your hands sticky, it’s entirely up to you.

Finish the evening by joining us at our long table dinner of glazed ham and all the accompaniments, crusty bread and delicious salads. Just like Christmas!

Voices & Vines - 1 Sep 2018

 

Join us at Golding Wines and experience the talented soprano Karina Bligh and mezzo-soprano Charlotte Kelso in concert on Saturday evening 1st September.  These young opera singers, joined by one of Adelaide’s premier pianists Mark Sandon and guest singer Lachlan Scott, offer you a program of opera and art song favourites, set in our beautiful, rustic sandstone Barn nestled in the stunning Adelaide Hills. 

Seating will be cabaret style and the ticket price includes dinner; a shared Regional Platter (for two) to be served at interval. The platter will include house-made dips, meats and local Adelaide Hills cheeses, as well as some winter warming favourites.  A soup and a dessert will be available for purchase on the night along with glasses and bottles of wine from our range, together with local Adelaide Hills craft beers.  Allergy & dietary requirements will be catered for.

Smokin’ Hot Winter Reds Weekend - 28 Jul 2018 - 29 Jul 2018

This year we welcome you back to the Barn as we beat the chills in the Hills and fire up the food and wine factor to delicious!  Think smoked, wood fired, spit roasted, and slow braised hearty goodness. The wood oven and outdoor firepit grill will be stoked as La Dolce Vita Catering work their magic on seasonal local produce. Perfect for enjoying with a glass of delicious Adelaide Hills' red.

This is going to be a feast for the senses!   Live tunes and DJ sets.  Kids activities.

DJ Ant Williams will be back keeping the beats going from 12noon Saturday, and Adelaide band The Sparkling Howards will be providing the live tunes from 12noon on Sunday.

This is non-ticketed event but there is a once off regional $10 entry fee for wine consumers that entitles you to a take home Speigelau glass and entry in to other non-ticketed Winter Reds events.

No general bookings taken.  If you do however have a booking of 15 people or more and Golding Wines is your first (or only stop), to book a table a deposit of $10 per person is required which covers your entry-fee  regional glass and a guaranteed table in the Barn.

** UPDATED EVENT Crush 2018 Spanish Fiesta - 28 Jan 2018

As you are probably aware we are set for a scorching Australia Day long weekend in South Australia and that has led us to make the decision to modify our CRUSH festivities on Sunday the 28th of January. In considering the comfort and safety of patrons and staff we have made the following changes to our event on Sunday.

Given the heat that is forecast, we will be moving our event out of the sun and indoors into our Barn and Tasting Room where we will have air-conditioning set up for the day.

Our menu will be modified as we will not be using outdoor charcoal grills or the wood oven. Our head chef Josh Dorset has come up with a delicious alternative menu that you can view here. This special menu will run over the whole long weekend.

The band Alice and the Wonderlands will still play indoors.

We will not have a jumping castle as previously advertised.

The standard Crush $10 entry/glass charge remains as we are still taking part in the Regional Event.

Spaces will now be limited compared to our usual sprawling outdoor event so we encourage you to arrive early to secure a spot in the Barn.

The forecast for Sunday is hot but with very light winds so we do not anticipate that there will be a catastrophic fire warning issued for Sunday. However forecasts can change and if this does occur our event will be cancelled and we will notify the public on Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned to all the usual social channels for any updates on this matter. As is the case with any event that takes place at Golding Wines on a fire ban day, there will be a Bushfire Emergency Plan in place.  

Sorry for any inconvenience these changes may cause you. We are working hard to bring you a fantastic event despite the heat.  See you there.  Olé!

DJ Tor will keep the beats going from 11am on Saturday, and local band Western Branch will be providing the live tunes from 11am on Sunday.

We’re making an early start this year with a wood fired & spit roasted inspired breakfast menu available between 9:30 and 11:30am rolling in to lunch service from 12noon.

This is not a ticketed event but there is a once off regional $10 entry fee for wine consumers that entitles you to a take home Speigelau glass and entry in to other non ticketed Winter Reds events.

Note: Table bookings are only available for large groups (15+) booking for breakfast between

Fermented for one month on skins followed by 12 months in barrel, an avant-garde approach that has paid huge dividends. The wine’s texture was only to be expected , but not the savoury incisiveness, hints of skin and wax, and a diamond-bright finish.

The Handcart Shiraz 2012 94 points

The fragrant bouquet, with red and black fruits, spice and pepper, all fluttering from the masthead, accurately point the way for the elegant, lively medium-bodied palate: fine almost crispy tannins provide texture.

Rocco Shiraz 2010 94 points

Full crimson-purple; a particularly well-balanced Adelaide Hills Shiraz; succulent black cherry and plum fruit is supported by ripe tannins and positive oak. All of the Golding labels are good, this portrait of grandfather Rocco especially so.
