2010 La Francesa Savagnin
From Winemaker, Michael Sykes
The juices were soft pressed and treated seperately and cold fermented using selected yeast strains to preserve fruit character. La Francesa brings an enduring and richly layered palate full of earthy spice, pear and stone fruit and finishing with fresh citrus. This wine retains its wonderful natural fruit acidity.
Vintage conditions
The 2010 growing season saw near perfect conditions for aromatic white wines such as Savagnin. Steady warm days and cool nights with no rain fall in the 40 days prior to harvest. The fruit was picked in the dark early hours of the 10th of March fully preserving the aromatic character.
